Tips and Tricks

Winter Storage
Winter storage is a little different here in the Bay Area. It might mean you only commute to work, it might mean you only ride two weekends a month, or it might mean you don't ride at all. There are several tips and tricks for 'our' kind of winter to pass along.
Battery life - If you are only riding a short commute to work at best then be mindful of how much you are changing you bike's battery. Batteries are charged natively with bike use. High revs for at least 30 miles and you have a fully charged battery. If you only go 5 miles to work then an alternative is needed. A weekend ride, a long jaunt home with a highway detour, or a battery tender to plug into.
Brakes and clutch - if you don't ride much or at all, then be sure to pump your breaks and clutch BEFORE riding to get the fluid going. If your bike sat more than a few months, might want to replace the fluid all together or you might not stop going down that hill or shift like you should.
Tires - they will need more air in the cold because air contracts. Also, if your bike sits the rubber can get hard and crack or you could end up with a flat spot that will work itself out after a while.
Rain and Wind - road paint and metal are not your friends when wet as they get super slippery.
